Daily Announcements 

The Girls' Powerlifting teams were back in action over the weekend taking on the North Branch Regional.  The JV team put in work and came home with the first place trophy.  Getting third in their weight classes were Hallee Harris, Alexia Hinojosa, and Nakeya Rome.  Receiving second place in their weight classes were AJ Dupree Howell, Siera Pretzer, and Madison Brooks.  Bringing home first place in their weight classes were Kacey Szczepkowski, Kashanna Graham, Amaiya Bethany, and Cheyenne Bland.  The Varsity team fought a hard battle but wound up taking second place by 6 points.  Getting third in their weight classes were Aaliyah Muma, Domojie Smith, and Damajiea Smith.  Bringing home second place were Jada Adame, Kayla Whiting, Candie Tibble, and Alison Hager.  Bringing home first places in their weight classes were Judy Hoang, Kayley Lambert and Dayle McKinley.  Great job ladies, you make our school proud!

Congratulations to the following students that had an art piece make it into Scholastics!  Maleena Stewart-Silver Key, Megan Debuf-Gold Key AND Honorable Mention, Jezzy Radatz- Two Silver Keys, Devonte Barber-Gold Key, Emily Jamison-Honorable Mention, Makayla Wendell-Silver Key, and Ryan Sisk-One Silver Key AND Two Honorable Mentions.  The artwork will be on display at the Lorenzo Culture Center in MaComb County January 28-February 10.

The Varsity Wrestling team captured a 2nd place trophy this past weekend in the Armada team tournament.  Bringing the team record to 8-9.  Individual medals for having the most wins in their weight class went to:  Austin Bird, Cody Borntrager, Clinton Tunnel, and Team Captain Reese Mathews. 

Come join Key Club for our next meeting Wednesday, January 16 right after school in Mrs. Ragsdale's room.  Remember, we don't make keys, we make a difference. 

Attention Juniors-There is a full class meeting Friday, January 18 at 7:00 AM to discuss Junior Prom.  We will finalize the theme at this meeting in the Media Center, plan to be there!

Attention to any student interested in testing out of a subject you must see your counselor and submit a form to be able to test out on January 23rd and January 24th at 11:15 AM following exams.  Forms must be submitted to your counselor by Monday, January 14th. 

Hello students and teachers.  We are excited to announce that our school has been selected to participate in the 2019 National Assessment of Educational Progress, also known as NAEP.  It is the largest continuing and nationally representative assessment of what students across the country know and can do in a variety of subjects.  Some of our 12th graders have been selected to take assessments in math, reading, science, and writing.  To those who have been selected for this important test, you have all our support, and I have NO doubt that you will represent us well!   More details to follow as we move closer to our school's assessment day.  Thank you in advance for your involvement. 

Michigan Driving School will be starting a Segment One class on Monday, January 14th at 2:30 PM in room 222.  If you have any questions see Mr. Horne in the Aux Gym.

Lake Superior State University will be visiting PHHS on January 15th during Red52.  The meeting will take place in the media center.  See Ms. Grewe to sign up.  PHHS will be hosting their first career fair on January 15th during all lunches.  There will be multiple companies so be sure to stop by!

Remember-January 31 there is a college tour!  Turn in your permission slips for the CMU/Alma trip!  If there are not enough students signed up the trip will be canceled.  The permission slip needs to be turned in by January 15th, with the $15.  Slips can be found in Ms. Grewe's office.  Sign up today; it's going to be a great time!
