Student Dress Code

Student dress should not distract from the academic focus in your classroom. The following guidelines will be observed:

-  No sagging pants

-  No bare midriffs

-  No shirts advertising alcohol/tobacco or containing inappropriate language.

-  Tank top straps must be at least 2 inches wide and closely cut under the arm.

-  No hats, bandanas or sweatbands

-  Sandals are discouraged, but should have back strap if worn

-  Shorts/skirts must be at least finger-tip length

If a student has dressed inappropriately for school, we will provide an alternative shirt for them, use "zip ties" on the pants, or they will be required to call home to obtain proper attire.

School Song

Salute to Cleveland School,

We are the best.

We study and learn each day.

We'll pass the test.

At work and play, we use the golden rule,

Every student and every teacher

Cheers for Cleveland School.

My School's Cool

If you shop at Birchwood Mall, please save your receipts for our school. Any receipt from the mall will be accepted. Cleveland will earn points for every dollar spent. You can leave the receipts in the locker at the mall or drop them off in the school office.

Cub Scout Program

The Lunchtime Cub Scout program is a huge success! We have over 40 boys signed up. The boys have had fun playing football, exercising, running races, and learning about Cub Scouts. The program is on Thursdays during the boys' lunchtime in the gymnasium. The program has already started, but boys may continue to join. There are registration forms in the school office. Please call Leslie Butler @ 810-982-9529 if you have any questions.

When It Gets Cold Outside

Parents: Please do not drop your children off at school any earlier than 7:25am. They are not allowed into the building until that time and they are having to wait outside in the cold. Please remember to dress your child appropriately for outdoor recess (warm coat, boots, hats, gloves, etc.) as we will continue to go outdoors for recess most days.

Inclement Weather

Michigan has it's share of inclement weather. Building problems and other situation can affect the start of the school day throughout the year, and there are a number of ways parents and students can obtain the necessary information.

Please tune to CPHS-6, the District TV station, as any changes in bus schedules, closings, or cancellations will be posted as early as possible.

Appropriate announcements and information will be posted on the District web site at www.phasd.us.

Local radio stations (WPHM, WHLS, WSAQ, WBTI, WGRT) will also broadcast the information. Please do NOT call the radio stations as they are busy gathering and broadcasting the appropriate announcements.

Plan now for any possible changes should schedule adjustments be needed at any time throughout the year.
