Taylor Simpson (School Social Worker) I have been fortunate enough to work in the Port Huron Area School District in many areas. Since day 1, I have felt incredibly supported with each team I have been fortunate enough to interact with. There are so many training experiences and opportunities for growth in the district. I started as a classroom/building volunteer popping popcorn, to a Special Education paraeducator, to librarian, to substitute teacher, to school social worker. It has been an amazing experience and I am excited to be part of such a great community!

Kelsey Killion (Holland Woods Middle School Science) I would like to share how much support Port Huron Schools offers. Instructional, behavior, and curriculum coaches are always available for meetings or just quick emails. Everyone is very helpful and positive. I love that Port Huron Schools pays us for our professional development hours. There are also many PDs offered to help us meet our SCECH hours! I am so glad I made the choice to work in this district.

Lauren Wolff (Woodrow Wilson teacher) From the moment I joined the PHASD team, I have been continually impressed by the district's commitment to excellence, innovation, and the well-being of both students and staff.

One of the standout aspects of my time with the district has been the unwavering support and encouragement I've received from my colleagues, instructional coaches and admin. In conclusion, my journey with the Port Huron Area School District has been nothing short of enriching and fulfilling. I am proud to be a part of an organization that values collaboration, professional growth, and, above all, the success and well-being of its students. I look forward to continuing to contribute to the district's mission of providing quality education and making a positive difference in the lives of our community's young minds.

Kahlin Weir (PHHS): The best part of working at PHASD has to be the people. My first year was during the COVID hybrid-virtual-in person mayhem, and even in that time, coworkers went out of their way to include me and make me feel welcome. They checked in throughout the year, made sure I understood the processes that I never got the chance to be trained on since I was only a long-term sub hired in a week before the school year started, and made sure I was okay after any rough days. I've built a solid friend group at my school, but beyond that, I've learned to trust my team at every level. People are willing to help whether they be custodial staff, administration, behavior staff, secretaries, or fellow teachers. The community suffered in the days since COVID, but I've been grateful to see it rebuilding in the last few years, and new people are always welcomed with open arms!
