Laurie L. Oldford graduated from Central Michigan University and began her teaching career in the Port Huron Area School District. She has a Master of Social Work degree from Wayne State University and a Master of Arts in Teaching with an Early Childhood Endorsement from Oakland University. Laurie taught in Special Education and Early Childhood Education classrooms for 10 years and went on to become a School Social Worker, working in the majority of the schools in the PHASD for over 19 years. She developed and implemented Conflict Resolution Programs throughout the district, which included Peer Mediation, Staff Training and Classroom Instruction.
Laurie is involved in numerous community organizations including St. Clair County Community Foundation - Blue Water Arts Committee and the Port Huron Civic Theatre. She directs the Choirs of St. Joseph, Holy Trinity Parish in Port Huron. Laurie has one son, Vincent, who graduates from Port Huron Northern in June, 2023
