10th ANNUAL CROSSTOWN SHOWDOWN IS SEPTEMBER 22 AT MEMORIAL STADIUM
PORT HURON, Mich. — The Port Huron Schools Endowment Fund will be hosting its 10th annual fundraiser at the September 22, 2023 matchup between the Port Huron High and Port Huron Northern football teams. The Crosstown Showdown is one of two annual fundraisers hosted by the PHS Endowment Fund, which was started in 2010. The second is the K’s for Kids Fun Run, which is hosted annually in June.
This year’s event will feature a pregame tribute to each of our nation’s military branches including our own Veterans who are staff at Port Huron Schools.
PHS Endowment Fund Advisory Chairperson Kim Dooley will lead the efforts for this year’s Crosstown Showdown. A combination of sponsorships and ticket sales for a catered end zone tailgate reception contribute to the fundraiser. “The Endowment Fund supports Pre-K through 12th grade classroom grants, student programs and college access initiatives for Port Huron teachers and students,” explained Mrs. Dooley. The fund has granted $184,947 since its inception.
