GARFIELD ELEMENTARY STUDENTS NAME CITY STREET
PORT HURON — The construction at the crossroads of 10th and Garfield Streets has been busy in Port Huron. The students at Garfield Elementary were tasked with naming the street that will debut as a result of the new McNeil Creek subdivision. The top five names have been narrowed to:
Gator Alley
Education Drive
Gator Ave.
Chomps Court
Garfield Gator Gateway
The Garfield Elementary mascot is a gator named Chomps, who served as the inspiration for several of the names. On Thursday, December 9, 2021, the students at Garfield Elementary will reveal the top vote earner for the names, which will then be presented to Port Huron City Council for approval and adoption.
