Parent Updates

8.25.24

Celebrations

  • Open House is this Wednesday from 6-7 pm. Make sure to grab something to eat from What they Fry and/or a snow cone from Blue Water Snowie. These vendors will be by the playground and there are picnic tables on the playground and under the outdoor learning area for your convenience. The vendors will be open until 8:00 pm on Wednesday.

First Day of School: Tuesday, September 3rd, is a HALF DAY (8:25 am - 11:48 am) for students.

Check Out These Spectacular Open House Events!

Open House: Wednesday, August 28th, 6:00 - 7:00 pm.

  • You can bring in school supplies and drop them off in the classroom to help lighten the load for students on the first day. Please place the name of your child on the bag(s).

What the Fry & Blue Water Snowie: Wednesday, August 28th, 6:00 - 8:00 pm.

  • Two vendors will be onsite in the back parking lot. Food will be available to purchase during and after the open house. Picnic tables are spread out around the playground and under our outdoor learning area for your convenience. Feel free to spend time on the playground conversing with each other, making new friends, eating, and watching the kids playing.

Safe and Secure Campus/Visitors

  • Parents may walk their child(ren) to class on the first day of school. Everyday afterward, we will have a Hug & Go Zone at the front and cafeteria doors where parents and loved ones will wish their child well and hug them before they enter the school. Keewahdin team members will be present by the doors and inside the halls to make sure students get to their classes.

  • We appreciate your understanding of the need to have this security measure in place.

  • If you need to enter the building you will be required to state your name and business at the main entrance in order to be buzzed into the building. Please have your ID ready for verification.

  • Students will be dismissed from the rear of the building at the end of the day. Grades K-2 will be dismissed from the pavement behind the gym while grades 3-5 will dismiss students from the outdoor learning structure at the rear of the building. Parents are required to approach the teacher, have your ID ready for verification, then state the name of your child. Students must be dismissed by the teacher for safety reasons.

  • If there is inclement weather, students will be dismissed from the cafeteria.

  • Bus students will depart out the front doors to the buses.

Student Drop Off & Pick Up

  • Please refer to the diagram below for drop off and pick up.

  • The most important thing to remember for drop off is to pull all the way forward when dropping off your child. We can fit about 10 cars around the drop off area and keep the line flowing in order to prevent a back up onto Lakeshore Road. Have your child ready to exit the vehicle with their belongings. You may drop off your child between 8:00 and 8:15 am.

  • Feel free to park in the lot and walk your child to the door instead of dropping off in the loop.

Paraeducator Opening

  • We have an opening for a Paraeducator at Keewahdin. If you would like to apply for the position you can do so through this link. The posting will close on 8.28.24 at 4:00 pm.

Lego Team Coach Needed

  • We are in need of a coach or coaches for our Lego Team. The Lego team consists of up to 10 students in grades 4 & 5. The team meets after school on days of your choice in order to prepare for the Lego challenge and competition. The competition takes place on a Saturday. If you are interested in being a coach for the Keewahdin Lego Team, please contact me at clesser@phasd.us

Transportation: Please visit our Bus Stop Locator on the website for bus info.
