Celebrations
Students are excited for the Husky Hustle Kickoff and a few had an opportunity to model the Pie in Face reward at the kickoff assembly on Friday. Mrs. Landschoot, Ms. Allen, Ms. Bryant and I volunteered to be pie recipients.
We had several grant recipients honored at the Crosstown Showdown on Friday night. Our bird club, Lego team, and STEAM into reading initiative were honored guests at the pre-game celebrations. Thank you Mrs. Tetreau, Mrs. Palmer, Mrs. Zoia, Mrs. Jamison, and Mr. Harper for supporting these students and enrichment activities.
On Thursday we had our first successful fire drill where all students exited the building in 1 minute and 23 seconds.
Run Club starts on Tuesday at 3:30 in the cafeteria.
Husky Hustle
Each year we have a big FUNdraiser called the Husky Hustle where students run laps around the soccer field to raise money for the school. The funds raised support all the events PTA sponsors throughout the year. Students earn lots of wonderful prizes for raising money. Mark the date on your calendar and come out to cheer on your child(ren). Consider running a lap or two with them also.

College Day
On the first Wednesday of each month, we will have College Day. Students and Keewahdin team members wear their favorite college swag.
Our first College Day of the year will be Tuesday, October 1st.
Trunk or Treat October 22nd
Trunk or Treat @ 6:30 - 7:30 pm @ Keewahdin & Lakeshore Woods
We have partnered with Lakeshore Woods next door to make this event even more special. The residents next door will have candy for the trick or treaters as well. One of our parents, Tim Dennis, cut a path through the woods to link our school to the complex next door so families won’t have to walk on the shoulder of the road for this event. Lakeshore Woods employees and family members of residents will have cars setup for Trunk or Treat next door too.

Staff Recognition
Parents can nominate staff for recognition using this link on our district website. We are excited to recognize staff through Tribute Tuesdays, Board Recognition and the annual Advocator, Innovator, Educator awards in the spring.
End of Day Procedure
Our students use the playground until the end of the school day. Please refrain from coming onto the playground until 3:15 or after the kindergarten students and teachers have left the playground after recess. It is important that we keep the area clear of adults and non-Keewahdin students until dismissal.
School Spirit Days
Each Wednesday, except the first Wednesday of the month, will be School Spirit Day. Students and teachers will wear their Keewahdin swag, grade level shirts or something with dark blue and yellow/gold to show their school spirit.

PBIS Monthly Reward
Our first PBIS school wide reward will be an extra recess on October 1st for students with one or none behavior referrals.
Noon Hour Supervisor Substitutes Needed

Support Request
The PTA is in need of a CPA or someone who regularly prepares tax forms. We were hoping we could find a parent to help us file the necessary tax forms - we’ve reached the point where we need to do a little extra. Hoping we can find a parent to help rather than looking for a firm!
