Announcements for 5/21/2024 

There will be a short tree planting and memorial ceremony at 2:30 on Wednesday, May 22 in honor of Mrs. Nisbett and Mrs. Northrop. Staff and students are welcome to attend. The tree is being planted in the back of the school behind the 300 hall classrooms. We hope you will join us. The ceremony will be about a half hour. 

On Tuesday, May 7th, JV girls tennis played in the MAC Red Tournament. Winning 3 matches was 1 singles Payton Barnett who received a first place medal. Winning two matches were 1 doubles Izzy Dunay and Alana Dooley who received a second place medal, and 3 singles Izzy Johnson who won received a medal for winning the back draw. Winning one match were 1 singles Quinn Mullins, 2 singles Esther Anandraj, 2 singles Katie McCullough, 4 singles Ella Woolman, 1 doubles Jordyn Baunock and Ellie La-cows-kiss, 2 doubles Brianna Johnson and Alyssa Reid who received 4th place, 2 doubles Madison Hayward and Brooke Peliter, 3 doubles Michelle Gore and Lucy Hemby, 3 doubles Rose Franchi and Rori Gardner, and 4 doubles Lillian Droe-lee and Molly Kreiner. The JV girls tennis team did very well in this tournament against very competitive teams.

On Thursday, May 9th, JV girls tennis won vs. Rochester Adams 13-0. Winning their matches were 1 singles Payton Barnett, 2 singles Quinn Mullins, 3 singles Esther Anandraj, 4 singles Katie McCullough, 1 doubles  Izzy Dunay and Alana Dooley, 2 doubles Brianna Johnson and Alyssa Reid, 3 doubles Jordyn Bonuck and Ellie La-cows-kiss, 4 doubles Lucy Hemby and Ava Slowssar, 5 doubles Madison Hayward and Brooke Peltier, 6 doubles Michelle Gore and Ashlyn Smith, 7 doubles Izzy Johnson and Raylee Shovan, 8 doubles Sarah Bernard and Ella Woolman, 9 doubles Rose Franchi and Rori Gardner, 10 doubles Jenna Fraley and Marley MacDonald, 11 doubles Lillian Droe-lee and Molly Kreiner, 12 doubles Jayden Landry and Mariah Tanton, and 13 doubles Lillian Eblee-Haggerty and Alyssa Reid.  JV girls tennis played with grace and poise despite some difficult circumstances. Coach Lay-own, Coach Varty, and Coach Vanessa are very proud of the team. The end-of-season celebration will be on Thursday, May 23rd, Please make sure you have RSVP’d.

The Northern Girls Soccer team defeated crosstown rival Port Huron yesterday evening 4-1.  Alyna Chehob scored two goals, Ava Cendejas had a goal and an assist, Gwen Stewart had a goal, Charlotte Eastman, Sydney Simpson, and Ava Hunt had assists.  The team plays Chippewa Valley in state playoff districts tomorrow.
