Schools of Choice Deadline Approaching July is the month to enroll at Port Huron Schools for the fall of 2022. The school of choice window is open now through July 30. Out of district families can apply by contacting Port Huron Schools via email at enrollment@phasd.us, or by either calling or stopping by the Administration office weekdays from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Port Huron Schools offers personalized success to students with services and programming that is unparalleled in other districts in our region. Dual enrollment with St. Clair County Community College, K through 12 STEAM programming, access to St. Clair TEC programming and exclusive business and work based learning partnerships with McLaren Port Huron and P.J. Wallbank Springs all offer opportunity and unique pathways for our students. Middle College access provides our students the option of earning an Associates degree for free during high school. Port Huron Schools is hosting elementary, middle and high school summer school programming made possible through grant funding. Through the success of the high school programs, several students (almost one a day) have been able to earn their diplomas and will be noted as graduating with their classmates in 2022. This is a huge milestone for these students and we are very proud of their commitment and determination.

Friends of the St. Clair River challenges 5th grade students every year to submit a Sturgeon Story poster that showcases their knowledge of the Lake Sturgeon by means of art, song, diagram, or poetry. They received over 300 poster entries from 5th graders across St. Clair County and narrowed it down to 13 finalists. Finalists were chosen for their creativity and content related to Lake Sturgeon conservation. Each of the posters will be on display at the Blue Water Sturgeon Festival on June 4 for the public to vote on. It's up to the community to select the top three winners by virtual donations now or with pocket change at the festival on June 4. The top three winners will receive a prize package and see their art included in Friends of the St. Clair River's 2023 Sturgeon Celebration Calendar. Three of the finalists are from #1PHASD! - Brooklyn Emigh, Michigamme - Khloe Faust, Michigamme - Collin Robinson, Crull View the finalists and vote here: https://www.scriver.org/our-programs/sturgeon-festival/sturgeon-stories/
